How to See a Map of a File from our "Find a Walk" page

Each of the gpx files in our Find a Walk page can be shown as a route on a
satellite map or on an Ordnance Survey map.  The OS map can also be printed if you wish.  There are many ways to do this, and here are a few.

Option 1 - Wikiloc
The easiest way to see any of our gpx files on a satellite map is to use a website called Wikiloc (listed on our Useful Links page).

Once you are ready to use it, click Wikiloc to open the website on a new page.

Option 2 - GPX Editor
The easiest way to see any of our gpx files on an Ordnance Survey map is to use a website called GPX Editor (also listed on our Useful Links page).

Once you are ready to use it, click  GPX Editor to open the website on a new page.

Option 3 - Where's The Path
Alternatively, you could use another of the online mapping programs listed in Useful Links such as Where's The Path.  This site is not as easy to use as GPX Editor, but it does offer an alternative if GPX Editor is unavailable for any reason.

Once you are ready to use it, click  Where's The Path to open the website on a new page.


Option 4 - Garmin BaseCamp
If you have a Garmin GPS device with OS mapping, you can use Garmin BaseCamp to print a map of a route from a gpx file.  If you haven't already done so, you can download Garmin BaseCamp (for free) to your PC from the Garmin website.
Download Garmin BaseCamp (free) 

Once you have Garmin BaseCamp installed on your PC, you can to use it to see and print a map of a route from a gpx file.

Option 5 - Google Earth
Using Google Earth to preview the details of a route
Once you have downloaded a walk route, wouldn't it be great to see what the start point looks like, or to "fly" over the route looking at the terrain below?  Yes, you can!  Here's a link to see how to use Google Earth to look at the details of a route in advance.
